Managing Multiple eBay Accounts: Policies, Stock and Daily Checks

Multiple accounts create more places for a correct listing to end up in the wrong context. A practical workflow makes the active account obvious and keeps its policies, categories and communications together.

Start with a legitimate purpose

Use account separation for a clear business reason, such as distinct product lines or personal and business activity. eBay does not allow new accounts to be used to avoid restrictions or limits. Software that switches accounts does not change those responsibilities.

Keep a simple account register: the purpose of each account, the operator responsible for it and where its support and order work is handled. Keep passwords and authorization secrets out of shared spreadsheets and listing templates.

Check account context at the start of every batch

  • Selected seller account
  • Shipping, payment and return policies
  • Store categories and item location
  • Templates and default values
  • Which inventory rows belong to the account

Policy labels that look alike may still represent different settings. Verify the actual policy before publishing. If you switch accounts with rows already populated, stop and review defaults rather than assuming the old values remain appropriate.

Keep physical stock ownership explicit

If two accounts share a storeroom, give every item a stable identifier and record where it is offered. For a one-off item, decide who is responsible for removing or reconciling other offers after a sale. Do not rely on the account name alone to distinguish nearly identical stock.

Ask any software provider whether quantities are shared across accounts and exactly which events trigger synchronization. Multi-account support and automatic stock allocation are different capabilities.

Create a daily communication routine

Review new orders, buyer questions and offers account by account. Before accepting an offer, check the item, quantity and account context. When replying to a question, keep the listing visible so that condition or included-accessory details come from the correct record.

Sellius places messages and offers alongside inventory and supports account-scoped defaults for listing work. The product tour shows those workflows; use a small pilot to confirm how they fit your business.

Audit the exceptions

Keep a short list of expired connections, failed updates and stock mismatches. Resolve them before starting another large batch. Review account permissions when a colleague changes responsibilities, and make sure the business can recover access without sharing secrets in ordinary messages.

For a repeatable creation process, pair this account checklist with the bulk listing workflow.
